What You Watching: A New Season of Death In Paradise
Britbox has the latest and previous Death In Paradise seasons. Neville Parker, the DI Detective Inspector, has been the fish-out-of-water character for four and half seasons. This season, a new DI from England will appear in later episodes. The DIs and many other Paradise roles have changed over the years in Saint Marie; only the commissioner and Katherine, the bar owner, have been continuous characters on this magical Caribbean Island called Saint Marie.
I find the show amusing, and the plot is always the cleaver who did it. The DI is always quirky and has an interesting way of looking at things. You won’t be disappointed. So, DI Parker has decided to write a blog. For all of us who use the computer, whether it be a desktop, laptop, or cell phone, we write things, and there is an ominous creature in our software that drives us crazy with a thing called autocorrect.
Neville wrote a word in one blog and was in a hurry. He sent his blog out without checking the autocorrect unsolicited editing. The word autocorrect used instead of Neville’s changed the meaning so dramatically that the blog was maybe slightly inappropriate. Well, erotic sort of in a dull piece of writing.
The series uses plot twists when changing any character, and Neville’s departure seems to follow the script of the DI role. All the other characters are written with the same storyline.
The series ends the episode’s mystery each week in typical Agatha Christie, Hashell Hammett, and Raymond Chandler fashion. All the suspects are gathered up after the solution hits the DI in the head like a lightning bolt. The DI walks everyone through how the case worked and what was overlooked that hid the murder’s secret.
There have been four DIs, and one is on the way. There have been 13 seasons, so each DI gets about three seasons. Neville Parker got four plus.

I have watched Death in Paradise and do enjoy the characters. It is a good show!!
